Viehhofen is a small, idyllic village located in the Glemmerthal, between Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Zell am See. Viehhofen is centrally located to various ski areas, Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Zell am See. The new connecting lift, zellamseeXpress, was opened in December 2019. From Viehhofen, this provides a direct connection to the ski area “der Schmitten” in Zell am See. Construction of the connection from Viehhofen to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang ski area is planned to start in spring 2020.

From Saalbach you can make the ski descent to Viehhofen. A nice descent. The ski bus takes you back to Saalbach every 15 minutes or you take the ZellamseeXpress to Zell am See.

In the summer is Viehhofen an excellent place to go out to spend your holiday.

Beautiful mountain walks where you are treated to a breathtaking view over the mountains at the top. Along the way you will find many cozy mountain huts where you can eat delicious Pingzause regional dishes!

Mountain bikers can indulge themselves! Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Leogang and Viehhofen offer many mountain bike trails for young, old, beginners and advanced bikers. Leogang and Saalbach-Hinterglemm have large bike parks. A large number of lifts are open where you can take your mountain bike up and…..just bike……

Zell am See is located about 9 km from Viehhofen. Zell am See offers many possibilities. A nice walk through the old town with cozy shops and terraces. But also the “Zeller See” is not to be missed. In warm weather you can take a refreshing dip in the lake. But renting a sailboat or pedal boat is also an option. Plenty of activities for the whole family
